Steering angle sensor g854/27/2023 Reassembled and cleared the faults with VCDS again.Ī VCDS check of the 03-ABS Module (after clearing codes) Group 001 in Basic Settings indicated that the Steering position was "OK." So I buttoned eveything up and drove 30 miles to work. I disassembled the steering column components yet again and corrected the Cancelling Ring with Slip Ring and Steering Sensor to the 4:00 o'clock position mark on the ring and to alignment mark on the ESP housing (I suppose that is what it is called) and made sure the yellow dot was visible through the window on the ESP housing. > No problem, right? I would just disassemble, mark the current poisition on the wheel with the front wheels pointed straight ahead, and recalibrate per Ross-Tech's instructions for ESP Steering Angle Sensor Calibration (Click Here). I did not properly align the metal punch mark on the steering wheel with the paint mark on the spline that it mounts on. The yellow dot was not initially displayed in the small, circular window in the upper lefthand corner of the plastic module behind the Steering Angle Sensor (clock spring?).Ģ. Upon reassembly of the steering column components, I failed to aligned the Cancelling Ring with Slip Ring and Steering Sensor (part 1J0 959 654 AP) to the 4:00 o'clock position mark (as indicated in Bentley).
